Don’t Give up!
Song:
Don't Lose Heart by Steven Curtis Chapman
Major themes:
1. Do not give up in your suffering
2. Jesus has already won the war,
so our pain is only temporary
Scripture:
Romans 8:18-39
1. In Romans 8:18: What do our present suffering not compare to?
2. In verses 26-27, how does the Holy Spirit help us in our weakness?
3. At the end of the reading, we are reminded of Christ’s perfect gift for us. In verse 35, what things do not separate us from the love of Christ?
Parenthood sure feels like trouble and hardship in certain moments. But Jesus died on the cross for us so that we can never be separated from God. Because of Jesus, we are also victors! There are days where I realized I cannot do it on my own, but with Jesus I can. Rely on Him and take comfort that no matter your circumstances or mistakes, you will never be separated from God’s everlasting and perfect love.
Friend, I have been in the dark moments. I want you to know that You can do this. Pray every moment you need to… even when you don’t have the words. And when you're not praying, keep your mind on the goal. Jesus already did the excruciating work for us. Always remember that you will receive glory in heaven one day; use that as motivation to get through those hard moments!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the most perfect gift of Jesus. Help me to rely on you in the hard moments and to remember to never give up. I can’t wait to get to heaven and experience your glory, but in the meantime, give me the strength and willpower to make it through these difficult days of parenthood.
Amen
